Congratulations to the Marist Sisters’ College Woolwich Class of 2023 on your outstanding Higher School Certificate (HSC) results!

Our school soared into the top 100 in The Sydney Morning Herald rankings, placing 96th in the state and climbing 10 positions.

This ranking means Marist Sisters’ College was the seventh best performing school across Sydney Catholic Schools and the fourth highest ranking girls school in 2023.

We recorded 137 Distinguished Achievers, three All Rounders and one Top Achiever, together with a Band 6 rate of 17.6 per cent.

The key to our school’s HSC successes lies in the fruitful collaboration between teachers and students.

Marist Sisters’ College Woolwich educators’ deep understanding of their students, coupled with high expectations and challenges tailored to each individual, has proven immensely beneficial.

Our Flexible Learning Experience program further extended opportunities for students to receive extra guidance, contributing significantly to their overall success.

The college achieved remarkable accomplishments in Visual Arts, Design & Technology, Textiles and Design, and Music 1, underscoring the College’s outstanding HSC performance.

Notably, the excellence exhibited in major works and significant performances above the state level highlights the College’s dedication to academic, creative and artistic excellence.

Our results also included a First in Course award, with Gabriella Michalopoulos placing first in the state in Studies of Religion I, and Mary Melkumyan placing second in Armenian Continuers. We also celebrate 12 First Places in the Sydney Archdiocese.

Marist Sisters’ College Principal, Dr Anne Ireland, congratulated Year 12 on a fantastic effort.

“The school’s results unveiled the remarkable dedication and collaborative spirit shared between students and their teachers, leading to remarkable outcomes.

“The exceptional creativity displayed in major works stands as a testament to the nurturing guidance provided by our exceptional educators, enabling students to excel and realise their fullest potential”.

“What impressed us most about the Class of 2023 was their unwavering commitment and dedicated effort throughout their HSC journey. Many students surpassed their school-based assessments, showcasing an admirable level of diligence and academic prowess until the conclusion of their final HSC exam,” Dr Ireland said.
