Congratulations to the Marist Sisters’ College Woolwich Class of 2022 on your outstanding HSC results! 

We placed in the top 150 schools in the state, coming in at 106 in The Sydney Morning Herald rankings. 

We recorded 125 Distinguished Achievers, four All Rounders and one Top Achiever in three subjects.

The college also recorded nine students who placed first in the Sydney Archdiocese:

  • Katia Gavljak –  Biology & PDHPE  
  • Jacinta De Palo –  Dance  
  • Emma Whitmore –  Earth & Environmental Science  
  • Jane Linetsky-  Textiles and Design
  • Pariss Ainis – Entertainment Industry Exam 
  • Lousine Oganesian – Armenian Continuers
  • Caitlin Neal-Bartier – German Beginners 
  • Aleksandra Bialous – Polish Continuers 

Katia Gavljak also achieved a top 10 place in the state in Biology, Personal Development, Health and Physical Education, and Studies of Religion II. 

Additionally:

  • Three students were nominated for CALLBACK2022
  • One student was nominated for ARTEXPRESS 2022
  • Five students nominated for SHAPE 2022
  • One student was included in TEXStyle 2022
  • Four students included in SCS Showcases

Dr Anne Ireland, Principal at Marist Sisters’ College Woolwich, congratulated Year 12 on their fantastic efforts. 

“We’re thrilled for the cohort with strong performance across a broad range of subjects,” Dr Ireland said. 

“The Class of 2022 developed strong relationships through working collaboratively with both their peers and teachers as ‘Sisters for Life’ to rise above a disjointed Year 11.

“Through their hard work and consistent effort they have been significantly acknowledged and rewarded,” Dr Ireland added. 

System success 

Sydney Catholic Schools has achieved outstanding results in the 2022 HSC with nine of its 33 schools ranked among the top 100 high schools in NSW.

 A total of 17 schools ranked among the top 150 secondary schools, underlining Sydney Catholic Schools’ position as one of the top performing systems in Australia. 

 Sydney Catholic Schools recorded an impressive 2630 Distinguished Achievers, 66 Top Achievers and 58 All Rounders.

  • 125 Distinguished Achievers – lists the students who achieved a result in the highest band (Band 6 or Band E4) for one or more courses, not including results for courses studied external to their school
  • Four All Rounders – number of students scoring above 90 in at least 10 units
  • One Top Achievers – student(s) who achieved one of the highest places in an HSC course or VET examination and also achieved a result in the highest band (Band 6 or Band E4)
  • Nine students placing first in the Sydney Archdiocese
