The new 2021/22 Marist Sisters’ College Woolwich Student Leadership Team have been hard at work brainstorming ideas to better the college community and progress their leadership goals.

Bringing excitement to the whole college during this difficult period of remote learning, the student leaders have announced their first initiative, and it’s one that brings to mind the peak of human achievement – The Woolwich Olympics.

Kicking off in Week 7, the Woolwich Olympics is an initiative inspired by the success and resilience of the Australian Olympic and Paralympic Teams at the recent Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics. It was born from the joy the athletes have brought to many Australians, including our own MSCW community, as they navigate COVID-19 related restrictions and lockdowns.

A House vs House activity, the Woolwich Olympics is a community-building challenge where students need to complete tasks to earn points. Different activities are worth varying amounts of points, with the potential points to be earned increasing with the difficulty level of the task. Points amassed by each student will be tallied for their House and, at the end of the initiative, the House that accumulates the most points wins.
